Every year, high school students from across the country compete in the North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad, a fun and exciting event held at different locations that exposes young people to the field of computational linguistics.

Interviews with the American and Canadian Linguistics teams at the 2011 International Linguistics Olympiad in Pittsburgh, PA. In the individual contest, the US brought home 1 gold medal, 4 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal, and Canada brought home 1 bronze medal. In the team contest, the US won first place.
